This trip I didn't want to post the same photos I took a few years ago. So I went in to take my time and work on the settings, mood.

But like last year I am going to break these down into buildings. Some outside shots- the light was perfect. And the pre Civil War building. Love the color here, the light was so wonderful. I also went into this area first, reversing the order from last time.

Light and darkness...how I really enjoy the play.

Front door has lead stainglass, clear. The sun hits it just right and makes the rainbow effect on the floor.

The door you would see each day...

This place is open for Ghost Hunting groups. They leave toys behind.

These are gorgeous!

I gotta ask... is that a ducky plush doll I spy on a window sill?

;)

I love the views your eyes find. The teddy bear is just a little freaky though.

That building speaks volumes. I'm lovin' all the photos but if it was built before the 1860's then it shows that it has hollow cavities which when you consider we were still building houses that were solid here for another 100 years you guys were ahead of your time unless of course there were extentions added much later.... and a big 'wow' to those round basins, that was something that only people with money would have back then (again over here).

You really do excel at this photography hobby and that wheel-chair... I can just see it moving on it's own when your back is turned!

Going to do this back ass-ward. Started to work on the photos but I started with today's photos. Worked last night and went into TN. When I kept meeting concrete trucks at 3:00 am on an crocked country road, I started to try and remember what was in the area.

Dam- leak, been working on it for over 7 years now.

So when it looked like an alien ship was landing in the tree line- I knew what was coming. I couldn't stop on the dam so took a point and shot. When I got off the dam I did pull over and took some shots using the advise Otter gave me on night shots. :) Not bad for no tripod and the micro lens that was on the camera that I grap at the last second.

Then it was mid morning and the trip back home. Clouds, spots of rain. I found a building that looked to of been a school at one time,, small town.

Not only one door, but the back door open.

2000 was the last time these was used. Guess you would be hard pressed to explain at the junk yard how you came about these is the reason they are still here.

Gym-

Now- two homes I found, in BW and color as I can't pick the ones I like best.

One I am going back to at some point to get a better shot of. I need to go down a small hill and wasn't going without someone to help me up when I fell. lol Rain, wet grass, hill and me are not a good thing. ;)

I was going to edit out the electric lines but then.. it just makes me want to call it "Bird House" with the birds on the wire. :)

Ok- eyes are done for the night, all I can do tonight.

Ohhh I love those!

I really like the old house pictures. I like them better in color. There is something about the colors surrounding the houses that makes the house stand out more.

Thank you Moonie. :) Going to use the last one, in color as you like it that way, on my profile. It is just Fall with those colors.

I love those school pics. Even during the day there is something eerie about them.

Those night pics of the dam were very good, I'm useless at night pics!

...and that second from bottom pic is wonderful. Picture postcard quality.

All amazing pictures as always. I really like the last two of the old houses as well. For some reason the Wizard of Oz comes to mind with that color picture of the abandonded house.

Ohhh I would love to see those up, close, and personal.

I bet they were gorgeous and proud houses in their prime. They still are, though.

A few photos- unedited. This is a hotel restaurant I found about two years ago while on a move, couldn't stop. When I found this it was open, looked like it had just burned. Boarded up now, but found a door open on the backside.

The goal on this trip was to work on the 'mood' of my photos, to play with the aperture and shutter modes. So I give you the unedited photos of this place, show you the lighting.

:)

Notice all the water, roof damage I didn't go far into this place. But I did take the time to play with the settings-

Then I worked on putting the 'mood' that I love in a photo like this.

Found out I like the shuttle setting a lot more then the aperture settings.

Interesting place to explore but do you ever get spooked in these buildings?

I think it's great you can play with the settings like that, and it really does show. Love the way the light works for you. I have a digital camera that you just point and click. It works for me as it's idiot proof.

I love the light and shadow play on the last two photos. It really brings out the different lines and angles. You always have a great eye for these things.

A while ago I wanted to do a makeup look that split my face between a soft makeup and a horror look. There was a baby doll in my vision with a burnt face but I knew that was not going to happen any time soon so I just did the makeup look. :) First one has a little edit, the other ones don't have any.
